By law, Belgian consular fees are published in Euros (EUR). In Canada one has to pay the equivalent in Canadian dollars (CAD). The exchange rate is adapted regularly by decision of Belgian Foreign Affairs.

In Canada, only the Consulate-General of Belgium in Montreal is authorised to offer consular services for Belgium. Beware of fraudulent websites offering so-called consular services for a fee!

Cash, personal cheques, international cheques or bank transfers are not accepted.

Payment methods

You can pay for consular services by:

  • Postal Money Order (issued by Canada Post) made out to the 'Consulate General of Belgium';
  • Bank draft or certified cheque (issued by a Canadian financial institution) made out to the 'Consulate General of Belgium';
  • Credit card or debit card payment, if you pay at counter.
